My once predictable baby is throwing me for a loop. He, just last week would eat every 4 hours and sleep for at least 2 hours inbetween every feeding. Today and yesterday however, he has only had 3 or 4 20 minute naps! He was also sleeping through the night last week. Not the case this week. Help.

I know, just when you think you have their schedule figured out it changes. Sometimes it's just a brief interruption in the schedule because of teething, or not feeling well, sometimes you won't even know why. He may go back to his routine soon. I know my son does that often.
Typically a 3 month old will sleep 5 hours during the day broken into 3 naps. Check out the link I'm providing as the source, this site has some great info, I've used it a lot since I first became pregnant, it's been a great resource as my son has grown.

when he was sleeping through it was probably a little growth spurt. If hes fussy and not sleeping now, maybe hes cranky due to lack of sleep. At 3 mo. they should be getting around 14 hrs a day roughly. Also your child might be an early teether. Get some Hyland teething tablets. They are homeopathic and completely safe and they are MUCH better than the orajel. Good luck.

The books have the conventional, your toddler is a special little individual, and has his very own time table/desires that may no longer be precisely the comparable as someonelse's kiddo so dont take the books as complicated and speedy rules. yet via 5 months i could be giving toddler cereal. (i began rice cereal at 2 months or so, even however MD's and books reported later, I used my superb judgement)

It could be a few things. Maybe his teeth are coming or maybe he is just going to start staying up more. I would bet on the teeth tho, that's when my son got his. Rub his bottom gums see if you feel anything. Has he been a little more "talkative" the last few days too?
