That's the only easy link I could find, but all of the pages found by searching "nii-san meaning" on google said the same thing: "big brother".

nii-san(sometimes one-nii-san),nii could mean brother or sister depending on how it was used, one (on-ii)maybe means big, and san is used to show respect to that person (comes after the name, ex. negi-sensei)others like san are chan, bozu, sensei, etc. it could or not be used a family member or a friend, but it could all so disrespect the person

I believe it means brother or sister, and is spelled Nee-san.
