He just turned 16 and since he was 15, he's had no desire to learn to drive, only play this game on his computer-- all day, all night. And no matter how hard we try to get him off it, he just won't stay off. And he smells like he's never heard the word "deodorant", yet he bathes every other day for about an hour... He was never like this before... why now?

Just have a Little patience with him....hes just going to puberty. All the hormones in his body cause the bad body Oder... just wait till he falls for a girl, he will use a LOT of deodorant and he will get his license to take her to places. You just wait and see.

Mom and dad need to do more than say to get off the computer. If it is becomming that big of an issue, take the stupid thing away. Make the child get his driver's license and a job. And if he isn't interested in either, put the computer away under lock and key until he does. As for smelling, it could be just puberty or a bigger problem with body odor that has to be controlled medically. Assuming his clothes are clean and he does know what deoderant is and uses it, he needs to see a doctor. Anyway, mom and dad need to take more control of the situation. They seem to be letting things get out of hand, and if they let it go now, things are bound to get worse.

Well bathing every other day does not work an you sound like a very caring sister which is a great thing but you know what? It's not your job to be trying to get your brother on the computer an as well as the shower... It's your parents. I know that you are concern about his welfare an you should be but its your parents who are suppose to be on his ***.... I mean case sorry. You should maybe want to talk to your mom or dad about it an see what they have to say if not let you brother know how you feel about all of this an at the age of 16 he should already have to know that he has to shower without being told. As a big brother he should be setting good examples for his younger siblings not the younger siblings setting good examples for him.

hormones I guess and theres not much you can do. I think if he wanted to he could change his diet or ask a doctor or nutritionist, I know what you smell like has a lot to do with what you eat. but anyway I have a stinky brother and I just gotta love him anyway. leave him alone and try not to hurt his feelings. for sure I don't think he will smell bad forever my bro doesn't smell bad as he used to oh and they make some pretty strong deodorant now days if you can get him some with out hurting his feelings., that would be good. good luck and please don't hurt his feelings, that will only make him feel bad and you feel bad and any one else that sees and hears it.

take the computer privilage away from him.... that way he can get his mind straight... dont let him sit around all day on the computer or infront of the T.V. take him places or go somewheres with him. let him know what the real life is like... as in driving! MAKE sure he takes like 2 showers a day cause that helps with the d.o. morning and night! umm..... buy him different deodorant!

Because he's 16. Some guys get gross right about now. Give him about 6 months and he'll get more normal if you're lucky. He sounds a little obsessed... but some boys are. One of mine was almost 17 before he got a life, friends, activities, LEFT HIS ROOM so there's hope...

Talk to your parents - I think its time for the games to be turned off. You can not do this it has to be your parents who make the choice on banning him from playing the game on the computer, they can password to computer so he can not play the game. The other thing is that the program for the game can be removed.

It's called being a teenager. The mind temporarily goes insane for that time period and for what ever reason you just can't tell these kids what to do.

The good news is that teenagers are not teenagers forever. Once he is in his 20's his brain will once again function. (Hopefully)

A guy that doesn't want to drive, now this is very unusual. Maybe his phase will pass.
