Totally agree.
If I looked like my Avatar, I wouldn't be online.
Also be cool if all the background scenes didn't all look so nice and American. What about a Little Chef in the background, or an upturned trolley in a canal, or a long queue at the cashpoint, or people fighting over a parking space? Better still, how about a bunch of people expertly sabotaging a Speed camera in the background.
Now that's more like it. No more of this New England at the ball park americana. Clip art was bad enough - and oh, how we hate Microsoft for it.
Real people aren't all clean and shiny like Boston Legal and Nip n Tuck. More like Crossroads, The Full Monty, Two Pints of Lager and 3 points on your Tesco Clubcard. More dodgy UK avatars please Yahoo.

I agree. For a company the size of Yahoo, how difficult is it for them to get some designers to make some different aged Avatars. The internet is for everyone!
I think it's actually pretty slack, if they pulled their finger out they probably wouldn't be falling behind Google the way they are! :P

I've opted for a bit of my own artwork. I figure that it is a pretty good portrait of me. And none of the avatars I have come up with look anything at all like a physical me at any age.

Probably not. When I first got my avatar-some years ago now- they were talking about having different body sizes too... but you can see that didn't happen. Would be nice tho. Not all of us r young, and/or skinny. It would be nice to have an avatar that reflected me.

I think that would be great. That's why I don't use an avatar. There isn't one my age! But, I have no idea if Yahoo will ever do that. I hope so, though.

and 30 is over-the-hill is it...properly then, i could be historical at sixty one....and definite there could be extra flexibility for individuals to describe themselves extra truthfully by way of their avatars. as that's now finding on the avatars forces me to suspect i've got landed myself right into a kindergarten type--all of them look so-o youthful.

I agree but isn't it funny that I have chosen the same hat as you and I'm no spring chicken.
