Did he say which way he loves you? He may just love you as a sister, or he also might just be a huge jerk. A lot of guys I know like to throw around the words I love you. Especially as an attempt to solve a problem. The best way to solve this is to confront him. But do it nicely.

if he said he loved u then y would he go off and tell someone else he loved her i would ask him about it if he is ur friend he could just be kidding around or saying that he loves u as a friend

Did he say he loves you, like a friend, a sister... or did he say he was IN love with you? Either way, bet soultion is to flat out ask him what's going on.
