Besides OTC meds, eat lots of yogurt (the live active cultures contained in it will restore the bacteria levels of your vagina), wear cotton underwear (not lycra, silk, etc) the cotton breathes better and if you sweat it will keep your infection from getting worse, shower regularly. DO NOT douche. That kills the levels of bacteria in your vagina and makes you more prone to getting infections. Even your gyno will tell you douching is very bad for you.
If it continues for a few days you should use the anti-fungal OTC meds to kill the infection.

Besides eating yogurt, you should use it as a douche. Use about half a cup of yogurt (be sure it's plain with no sugar in it and make sure it has active yogurt cultures) in a douching apparatus and then fill the rest of the bag with warm water (make sure it's not too hot). Shake it up to mix.
This sounds gross, but I used this method for years and it always relieves the burning and itching in one day.

I can tell you how to prevent yeast infections. Put two cap fulls of hydrogen peroxide in your douche. Since you are prone to yeast infections, you might want to douche a little bit more often than the average person. Also, add yogurt to your diet. Sorry, I'm not sure how to cure it.

Don't worry, you're not grossing any of us out lol. For my clients, I recommend a combination of Garlic capsules and Cranberry - either juice or capsules - 3 times a day, and probiotics with the am meal. Also yes, apple cider vinegar does help if you'd rather that instead of Garlic - I have just never used it for that. Lots of yogurt as well. I am at windstarhealing.com if you have any questions.

Yep, you should eat yoghurt, just make sure it is the kind with active cultures, acidophilus or something like that. And try not to eat too much sugar, eating too much sugar can cause yeast infections. However, you shouldn't douche, this can actually make you get yeast infections even more.

I would suggest Optiflora - it's a dual system utilizing both prebiotic and probiotic complex (replaces friendly bacteria). Also Garlic Complex destroys yeast overgrowth. For more info, feel free to contact me.

My suggestion is about the time you normally get them to eat yogurt. Every time I'm on antibiotics I get them so I found eating yogurt heads it off at the pass. Good Luck. Also try using some medicated douche too.

Eating yogurt is supposed to help. The bacteria in yogurt help keep your body's bacteria in balance. There are no home remedies that I know of.
