" the projects" is a term commonly used to describe a housing project. A housing project is a publicly funded group of homes designed for low income families. If you are not more careful about how you phase questions you will be seen as a racist or a moron. Just because the media shows use black male after black male on the news committing crimes it doesn't mean that black are more likely to commit crime. It just shows us how biased our media is. Stereotypes only make us and our country weaker, but blacks do love some fried chicken.

My mind jumped around a little bit on that one wondering in this politically conscious age if this is an inappropriate question.
I read some of the replies and they think it is and I'm still not sure
but I used to go to the "projects" as the people that lived there who were black called them in junior high and highschool to play pick up basketball and had a lot of fun. I think these days were trying to get away from old terms like that. I don't know the answer to your question but polite circles called them "LOW INCOME HOUSING RESIDENCES" these days.

"The projects" are low-income public housing which are populated by various races. Not only blacks but whites and hispanics populate most "projects" which are usually found in large cities.
It has been shown repeatedly that low-income public housing is a magnet for crime. I'm just guessing, but I think most people that live in "the projects" do so out of necessity, not out of desire. It has nothing to do with skin color.
Try to be more respectful of those that may currently be less fortunate than yourself.

Zero. Projects are federally funded temporary housing for low income families.
The apartments are modest and usually near public transportation for the sake of the tenants to get to work and school.
After living in these "project homes" for some time, the families can save money for better housing and schooling in areas that are thriving and safer.
Through this hand up project, it gives struggling families a short term answer to rising housing costs, so that they can work toward better wages, higher positions at work and save for their own homes....IDEALLY!

The projects refers to housing developments, places where POOR people, regardless of ethnic background can live. And projects was the name the goverment gave them before ANYBODY moved into them. With that said, shut your trap and think of something more intelligent to ask, prick.
