nope, there are speciality radio stations, speciality dress shoppes, it's just catering to a market. there's no law saying that latinos, causacians, or other ethic groups can't watch BET, Cartoon Network, Spike, Home Channel. stuff that the excellent thing about diversity.

The channel is named Black Entertainment Television. If it's not racist, then it sure isn't from lack of effort to be. And by "racist," I mean that it attempts to set apart content specific to a particular race. The real question is, does it have a negative effect? Said another way, is it "bad" racism? I would say no. It's a TV channel, it isn't a school or even a public restaurant. Big deal! I've heard many people say that if there were a channel called WET that blacks would be upset. I don't think that's true. I think such a channel would just highlight how unneeded WET is in light of all the other channels that exist that would share similar content with WET. It would be a joke and would fail miserably.
My race is irrelevant.

never seen it so i can't say. i only get 3 channels and they all suck i'm sure if i got a thousand channels i'd feel the same way. i'm sure that racism has it's benefits i don't really see anything wrong with people being a racist as long they can still function in an integrated society after all who would i be to force down their throat not to be so racist

For years hollywood made "black films" solely for black audiences that were not allowed to sit in white theaters. So, NO!
BET is not racist they are just providing shows and entertainment that connects with a black audience. A trend that was started by white American a long long time ago.
I am White!

I don't think it's any more racist than a channel that claims to be for everybody, but has mostly white characters and hosts. Every channel appeals to certain demographics, even if they don't say so in their name.
And I'm white.
