yes and no. i have spent a lot of time in the islands, living and working, and, well.... are you of Hawaiian descent? Because if you don't have any island blood in you, you will always be something of an outsider. this will narrow it down for you in terms of business, carreer and dating choices.
if you are already married, and your company is offering to transfer you to Hawaii, then i think you should go, because then all that counts is the weather and the scenery, which are great.

I lived in Hawaii for 8 years and loved it! But then, I really really liked outdoor activities: kayaking, swimming, scuba diving, hiking, backpacking, etc.
There's not a lot of "culture", in terms of museums, live music, etc. And there's really not a lot of night life on most of the islands. What is there centers around the tourists.
So it really depends on YOU and what you like to do.
Some consider the weather "boring" as well - almost always 80 and sunny, unless you live in Hilo or another rainy area. Personally, I loved the weather. But some prefer the change of seasons.
