It means that you think for yourself and that what you think doesn't square with whatever the current media or societal thinking is at the time.
What it doesn't mean is that you are wrong, or hateful, or mean, although you may get called all those things, and people may look at you askance, and gasp at your audacity.
An example of political incorrectness is to be against affirmative action. I am against it, because I think it does the exact opposite of what it was designed to dol, creating more and not less of a divide between "minority" and "majority" groups.
Another example of political incorrectness would be to be against anything where the rationale put out for it is "It's for the kids". "Kids first".
People use political correctness to shut their opponents up so that if they speak their true mind they will appear bigoted. When schools ask for more money because it's for the kids, the politically incorrect person says, there's no correlation between learning and money as far as I can see. And I don't see that money is a fix. The polically correct people then come down on that poor person and let him know that he just doesn't care enough about kids. And he may care more than they do--he just thinks there's better ways to improve the educational system.
Hope that helps.

In these days politically incorrect is when one shows an attitude against liberal agenda items.
For example, if you're against:
Gays, Welfare, Affirmative Action, Quotas in housing and employment, Government Housing for the poor or against same sex marriages, you're said to be politically incorrect.
At the same time if your for:
A strong military, punishing people for their crimes, attacking Muslims in the Middle East instead of New York, prayer in school, against abortion and other things like supporting Israel's right to protect itself, you are also said to be political incorrect.
I honestly feel the media through countless examples attempts to poison the mind of many Americans with this theology of liberalism which promotes the weak and puts down those who are strong. Why? Because a weak society need liberal politics and liberal politicians want power.
I'm not a weirdo and a kook, I promise you. But this is what I see happening in America today. And if you don't join the parade of liberal politics, you're said to be politically incorrect.

Being politically incorrect means you are bucking the system.
You refuse to use the language that the politicians have handed down as correct language.
Example :Calling blacks 'African-American"is being politically correct.
Refusing to use this label toward blacks is bucking the system.

it means saying things that by the unwritten laws of decency and civilization. Saying or doing things you know is not considered acceptable, or ethical.
It is a negative thing that idiots use who think freedom of speech is not a means to serve man kind, but a goal on its own and accomplish nothing but hurt people and increase tensions.

It pretty much means that you say what you want when you want without worrying who will be offended by it.
