what would be the finest and greatest pen on the market? i know they get a bit pricey, but what are the absolutle best pens for an avid collector.

I spoke with a friend about your question (he enjoys fine pens): In essence here was his reply, It is all dependent on your own aesthetic tastes. He compared it to fine automobiles...at a certain price point it all breaks down--sure they're expensive but do YOU like them.
That's the essential part of any true collecting. All fine things will generally hold some intrinsic value...collect what you like and enjoy.

The Paper Mate X Tend. They come in pens and pencils and lots of different colours. They are so comfortable to use when taking fast and furious notes in lecture.

If price was NO problem, I wouldn't waste my money on a silly pen- I'd try to buy peace! Nice to see humble folk online!
