Until Jan 1 2008, no. You do need proof of US citizenship, though, like a birth certificate. After January 1, you will need a passport.

No. But you need good ID, like a Driver's License and a Birth Certificate. They want to see proof of citizenship, like a birth certificate provides - assuming you're from the U.S.

You can get through with just your driver's license, but be prepared to be delayed, as it takes longer to check out your ID.

Passport is best, because they just need to look at that one document.

On Jan 1, 2008, the "Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative" passed by the US Congress is scheduled to take effect, requiring a passport for everyone going in and out of the country. However, because it will impact commerce, there is considerable lobbying of Congress to change the requirements before that scheduled date.

Driving in, not normally, Flying in defintely. Since 911 they really tightened the ship. Espescially on flights.

from the USA not really...you can just use your birth certificate...but getting back into the USA will suck bc our border patrol is very strict (which is a good thing)...better off just having one

no, last i heard. but you can email canadian embassy but you better have id to go anywhere outside if you want to get back.
