There already is a sequel to Gone With The Wind, and it was made into a TV movie. Both were dreadful. Margaret Mitchell, and her original caste of characters were unique and wonderful. Did you know GWTW was the only book that Margaret Mitchell ever wrote?

that was tried several years ago, but was a big disappointment. the book was called scarlett, but a tv. movie was made and it was awful, it had absolutely nothing in common with the first part. i think in this case it is best toforget trying to copy the first part because no two people write the same way and it is sad to make an otherwise well written story have a really stupid ending i really hope youve seen the original movie or read the book. if you had you would know that the movie left you filling in the blanks to find the end of the story.

Yes. I would have liked to know what happened in Scarlett's life in years later. Did Rhett really not give a ____? The world needs to know. But we will never know because Margaret Mitchell died shortly after the movie came out, I think.

Yep, everyone is right, SCARLETT was the sequel. I think it sucked because it was written by somebody else. Margaret Mitchell wrote the original, she is the only one who could have written a good sequel.

There is. It is called Scarlett. I actually thought it was pretty good... It isn't necessary of course, but it was a little interesting and just makes for another good read, if you are bored and have time to read like 500 page books. =p

I'm another one who thought it wasn't so bad. No, it wasn't penned by Margaret Mitchell, but it was a good try. And for those of us who always ask, when finishing a really good read--so what happened NEXT???--it makes for an interesting sequel.

They already made one -- first a book and then a mini-series called "Scarlett." And they both sucked unmercifully.

There already is one and, frankly my dear, I think they should have left a classic alone.
