Grief
Imtense emotional suffering caused by loss, disaster, or misfortune,
Hearing she is gone from a long life of torture,
Cancer spreading hurting everyday of your life,
The look of misery causing pain while dealing with strife,
Grief can be also the little things,
The loss of your keys,
Or your fiances wedding ring,
Grief can make you sad, mad, or astonished
But grief will always remain negative expected or diswanting.

I'll apologize now in case I hurt your feelings. I know that art and self-expression can be very sensitive areas, especially when dealing with grief.
I've dealt with grief, am dealing with grief, and something about your poem just doesn't do it for me. It seems to me more like a pre-write for an essay than a spilling of emotions on paper. Maybe it's just because my writing style is different, but I didn't actually FEEL anything when I read it. I wrote a few paragraphs and a poem about a suicide at my school, and they made my English teacher cry. I wrote a short story about another traumatic (and suspenseful) experience, and people who weren't there told me their hearts raced when they read it. Maybe it's just different people, you know? I don't know. I'm sorry I didn't like your poem, but I still hope the judges do. Just because we have different methods/styles doesn't mean you don't deserve to win. You've been through a hard time and you're trying to deal with it. Good luck.
-love from one bereaved to another.

Good ideas but you need to look up the meaning of grief and get a better handle on it...also losing your keys is a stretch and I cannot find diswanting any where.

Isn't the "Imtense emotional suffering caused by loss, disaster, or misfortune," the websters definition for grief?
I like it though. Very good

Yes-- very moving-- I had lost a close friend to breast cancer a little over a year ago and that is how I was feeling as well. Remember the fun times the two of you had together and realize that her spirit is still around you even now! I am sorry for your loss dear.

It is ok, you just need a little work. But even Alicia Keys still has a vocal trainer. So continue practice your craft.

It's a bit depressing, but it seems nice.
Maybe you should've added a bit more onto it so people can grasp the message you're trying to send to them.
But other than that, it's nice. I hope you win.
