Nursing is a great choice to make. Try to get your math and sciences in a Educational Centre. The programs usually quite cramped into about about 7 wks. You are tested weekly an I found they are easier to keep up on. They teach you all the really necessary things unlike courses that take a yr. throw in a bunch of hum drum. This gives you time to spend on the priorities of the class. There is also Teaching, Youth and Child Worker and other careers that do not require so many sciences but still keep you in the field of helping people.

I think that you should return to the community college. If you are having a hard time with the science courses then ask for a tutor or maybe take remedial courses to bolster your knowledge base. In the long run it is well worth it. Nursing has sustained my family through some mighty hard times. But it's not for everyone. Think carefully before committing to a lvn school. the pay is significantly less than an RN, and there is not much room for advancement.

LVN is not as highly regarded as RN. If you actually continue your educationas an RN, you can possibly get into a traveling nurse program and get paid. I have a girlfriend that is a traveling nurse. She is in New York right now, make 104,000 for a year with all living expenses paid but her hours suck
But if you really want to make some really good money, you should check into finding a school that teaches Dental Hygiene. In northern Virginia, where I work, the Hygienist are starting at $40 per hour and being able to create their own schedules.
Being that I work in a Dental staffing firm, I see a lot of Hygienist from other states coming to Virginia and making a lot of money. I just placed a Hygienist at an office making 89,000 a year to clean teeth. So if you rally want to find a job with great pay, then that's what you can do.
If you want more information go to salary.com and look it up for your area and compare it to other area's in your state or other states and you can see what the salaries are like.

Ok...we're talking TRADES here.
Become a
blacksmith or,
a farrier (Shoeing horses) or
a vintner (wine maker)
All are very niche market and high paying. I know a few farriers that travel the hills and dales of Lancaster County, PA and make 200-500 bucks a stop, depending on the services required, and average 15-30 stops a week depending on what's going on...like farm shows, horse races or shows, etc. Do the math. A nice paycheck..and it's 25-50% cash-o-la.
Here's some schools for all above...

Internet related jobs are still good.
I make a decent amount selling webpage hosting.

but as far as careers go you need to obtain your bachelors degree in just about anything, and then go on to get a masters degree in some area of business (known as an MBA - http://www.daylon.com/mba )
....whatever you do don't give up because of difficult classes. You can always buy "for dummies" books or take advantage of a tutor.
