Without a doubt, it has to be Barry Bonds. The unquestioned greatest player of our generation involved in a scandal that rocks the sport? If that's not the biggest impact you can have, then I'm not sure what would be.
If I had to pick another, I'd probably go with Mac/Sosa, who helped bring the fans back after the strike.

Cal Ripken Jr.
His consecutive game streak really brought people back to the game after the strike in the 90's. He is such a role model for everyone, not just baseball players. he is a great person on and off the field.

I would have to say Cal Ripken Jr. He changed how we look at his position from an offensive standpoint. And, he was the model baseball player for kids to look up to. Can't be much more of an impact than that.

I would say Barry Bonds. Now before you look away in disgust, at least hear what I have to say. First, Bonds broke in to the league and bagan to make his name known across the league. Then he began to become an all-star every year. Then, he broke Mark McGwire's single season home run record. Then, he got accused of taking steroids. Now, the argument is still being fought, and he's broken the babe's record.

I got to say roger clemens ( the man strikes out 20 people in a game then ten years later does it again and strikes out 20 people in a game and look at all the rewards he has won .He is over 40 years old and still look at his era it has been the last two years it was very good

Sadly to say it but I would go with Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa. Only because they put baseball on the map after the strike in 94, and brought it to the forefront again recently with the illegal drugs.

Barry Bonds in a good way and then terrible way. Albert Pujols has the chance to be a Bonds type of player and he is a much better person.
