U2- because of the album Joshua Tree and they are legends.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers- because of Under The Bridge and they are also legends
Prince- because the man is talented as heck!!
Alicia Keys- because she writes her own music, she is more than a pretty face, she is talented, and she does not have to show off her body to sell records. She is more about the music, not about self gratification.

Favorite band: Beatles - they wrote the book on how to craft a popular song, how to record that song and how to market it.
Their music and recording techniques are still the staples of nearly all sound heard today...just about every well-known artist today would agree that they learned something from the four lads from Liverpool.
Favorite singer: Linda Ronstadt - even if she is a dopey liberal, her voice is crystal clear and she brings unmatched emotion to every song and music genre she has tried.
Favorite songs: so many, and they span the new to the very old.
