Let me give you some rules to follow to help you do your problems.

1. If you have a number added or subtracted to a variable, do the opposite function to both sides to get the variable standing alone.

Example: 1] y + [-3] = 7
Step 1: Subtract -3 from both sides and simplify.
y + [-3] - [-3] = 7 - [-3]
y - 3 + 3 = 7 + 3
y = 10

2. If you have a variable multiplied or divided by a number, do the opposite function to both sides to get the variable standing alone:

Example: 4] -6x = 24
Step 1: Divide both sides by -6 and simplify.
-6x/-6 = 24/-6
x = -4

On #14, you need to use the Distributive Property and make the 2[x + 3] into 2x + 6.

Hope that helps ;)

I know what you feel, you think its hard,but what you don't know is that Math is just a game of mind. If you keep practicing, before you know it, you will be just like Pitagore, Tales or Rene Decart lol. Anyway i'm gonna do the "hardest for you", and the rest, you have to figure them out by yourself.

5) y/-2=-5=>Multiply both side by -2=>-2y/-2=-2*-5=>y=10

6) 3/4h=-12 use the cross product rules example: If a/b=c/d=>ad=bc, now you know there is an invisible 1 under the 12, so 3/4h=12/1=>3=-48h,now divide both side by -48: 3/-48=-48h/-48=>3/-48=h, now simplify by divide the nume. & the Deno. by 3: 1/-16=h

14) 12=-2[x+3]=>12=-2x-6. add +6 to both side: 12+6=-2x-6+6=>18=-2x, now divide both side by -2: 18/-2=-2x/-2=>-9=x

Now you're on your own.

I'm not going to do your homework for you. What are you going to do when the test comes around? I'll show you one. I took Algebra last year in HS. I know that it's difficult. If you need help on a specific one, post a specific question. That's what I used to do. And after learning from the text and Yahoo Answers and studying for 7 hours I got a B on the final exam.

add four to seventeen 21=3T
divide 21 by 3 21/3=T
T=7

WOW I hope you checked out all of these answers carefully - there really are a lot of mistakes, mostly when there are negative signs which is a common mistake. Not one 100% in the bunch.
