what scares you worst the flash knowing its that close or the clash of thunder after wards

"THUNDER IS THE SOUND OF LIGHTNING BREAKING THE SOUND BARRIER" ????
Sorry, buddy. If that was the case, we'd have sonic booms every time the sun came up. You have to have matter moving to create a sonic boom and lightning is energy. The thunder is created when the lightning superheats and ionizes the air, displacing huge volumes of it. When the lightning is discharged, the cooler air comes rushing back into the void left by the superheated ionized air, creating the thunder.

Depends on if i see the flash i guess. If i saw some lightning hit right next to my house, yeah that would be pretty scary. Thunder is only scary if you don't see the flash and you hear a boom out of nowhere.

I found them both just as thrilling. To see the lightning light up the entire night sky against an amazing backdrop of enormous clouds, and then the earth shaking thunder that you feel ripple through your body. Storms make me feel alive, I love to climb a roof to watch the front come through with all of its majesty!

Both scars me a lot. I was traumatize with Hurricane Andrew in Miami 1992.

What scares me is the moment of time between the two...at least when it's less than a second. Beyond that, it's all cool.

Thunder, but it doesn't scare me... it just startles me since you never know when it's going to come!
