Do you think that Condoleezza Rice is an embarrassment to the U.S.?

I think so. Here are my reason's.

1. She was appointed by G. Bush.
2. She is a women.
3. She is not respected.
4. She is a puppet.
5. Who the Hell is named Condoleezza anyway? (sounds African)
6. She is Black.

She's an embarrassment because she's completely useless and a pal of Dubya.

NOT because she's a woman, or black. She was given her position in part of appease people who encourage diversity, but they have no impact on her ability to do her job.

Her lack of personality takes care of that.

I do not agree with your assessment of her based on the color of her skin, her name, or her gender, but I am ashamed of some of the things she does, and I do not like to see her representing my country.

One of the biggest turnoffs for me was when she signed the condolence book after the rush-hour bombings in London. Her comment was something along the lines of "Their deaths shall not have been in vain." I thought that was just awful. There was nothing about the US being sorry for their loss, or feeling sympathy for the English, as we had suffered at the hands of terrorists as well. Rather, it seemed to me to be a less than sympathetic self-serving statement by an administration hoping to garner support for their war. I found it completely tacky. Had I been ordered to write something like that, I would have refused, even if it meant my job.

No, I don't believe she is an embarrassment to the United States. As she is an emissary of the current Administration, I don't agree with all (or even the majority) of her positions, but she is intelligent, tactful, and classy.

Bonus: she knows football and wears pointy boots. Not everyone can pull that off.

Yes I do, she is the puppet & George Bush Is the puppetier, she does & says exactly what he wants her to say, anytime anyone asks her a question, she just plain doesn't answer it.Yes she is an embarrassment to this great country of ours. Just be thankful she isn't president.

She's certainly no more of an embarrassment than any other politician today, of any party. However all of your "reasons" make people like you more of an embarrassment than any of them could ever hope to be. Attitudes like that are what will keep America, and world relations in the DARK Ages!

In every appearance she has made that I have seen her knowledge of events and positions has been well presented. Her training in world affairs is far above many who have held that post and She is a leading authority on Russia. People who attack others because of their race or sex only demonstrate how limited they are themselves. Judge people by what they know and how they present themselves and you will appreciate much more of life.
