ABORTION-As a Parent do you think its wrong for someone else to take your daughter....?

Question

to another state to have an abortion, because some states allow girls under 18 to have an abortion without the consent of a parent.
Why do you think this is wrong for a girl under 18 to have an abortion and have someone over 18 drive her and face criminal charges for doing so?
Im doing a research for my Legal class. Thanks for your help.

Hell yeah!!!! If my daughter was pregnant and someone else took her to another state to have and abortion because she was under 18, I would press every charge available. She is still legally my responsibility.

Why? because taking a person under the age of 18 across state lines is a felony in most states if the parents file charges. If something was to go wrong and the girl had to be put in the hospital she would have to have her parents consent.

Great Question! I'm a Writer for a Woman's Magazine and I was also a Public School Teacher, so Please hear my arguments:

It is NOT wrong or immoral for a girl under 18 to get an abortion without her Parent's Consent, NOR it is wrong for her be taken across state lines to get an abortion without her parents consent.
I'll tell you why: many of the young teenagers HAVE ABUSIVE, ABSENT PARENTS, OR DRUG-ADDICTED PARENTS.
This is Reality for millions of teens. I know many teens who's parents have almost Nothing to do with them. For example, my teenager cousin's mother was addicted to crack from the time my cousin was born. Her mother would disappear for days and jump in & out of relationships with men. One Thanksgiving when my teenage cousin was 13, her mother had taken all the money that was sopposed to be used to buy the turkey and food--and spent it on crack. My cousin and her brothers called my Mom and I, crying of hunger on Thanksgiving Day. Her father was an alcoholic who did not live with them. This was about 7 years ago. Therefore, I stepped in and helped to raise her--and I was only 24 years old. Her mother was NOT responsible--and I was the only constant, reliable, presence in her life..My cousin decided to become sexually active at around 16, and all I could do was advise her to practice Safe Sex. Was I sopposed to chain her to her school locker to stop her from having sex? If she had become pregnant, I would have taken her to get an abortion, no matter what her mother thought--because the cycle of poverty and teenage pregnancy has got to end in that family.
A teenager has should have full rights over their body--since they are just as sexually mature as an adult woman. They deserve the same rights and privacy that adult women have. If we can't legislate agianst pre-marital sex and make it illegal for teens to have sex by enforcing jail time--then we can't legislate agianst the Consequences of sex--which is teenage pregnancy and abortion....Since every child in America is not born to stable parents, it is NOT fair to enfore these laws across the board like that. Keep in mind that many teens are being sexually abused by their own fathers..Plus, even if a teenager does have 2 stable parents, her parents should not have complete ownership of her body as if she were sheep or cattle.Agian, if the government will not create laws staing that a teens needs "Parental Consent" before she can have sex, then they can not legislate & say she needs "Parental Consent" in order to have get an abortion...Also, in Many countries--young women get married at 16 and 17--so this idea that teenagers are these un-sexual, mindless creatures is absurd.

I feel sorry for the young women in America who will suffer because of these Christian NeoConservatives in Congress who are forcing their religious beliefs onto women's vaginas. If they are really sincere, then they would personally agree to adopt and raise every child who is born to teenage women from this day forth. If they are real Christians, they would provide guaranteed welfare for teenage mothers, rent-free apartments, and food vouches for 15 years to all teen mothers--but those hypocritical Christians in Congress have stopped welfare and social programs.
Teenage women will resort to Back Alley Abortions agian.

I am for abortion, mostly liberals do it so they are killing off their liberal beliefs.
