And vice versa. Both women and men are prone to appreciate the distance perhaps.

I think most men and women who marry foreigners do it because they are fascinated by people from a different culture with a different way of thinking and that it has nothing to do with how far away their in-laws are. To marry for that reason only is not a reason.

i'd LOVE to marry a foreigner but i wouldn't do it so i could be away from my in-laws. i hope to have a good relationship with them and with the rest of my husband's family.
seeing as 99.9% of my family lives in a different country at the moment, i see them only once a year. i wouldn't like to have that when i'd get married, i'd like the idea of actually having family close by.

I am not opposed to marrying someone foreign but not to distance myself from in-laws. If they are mean, I can stand up to them and hopefully my boyfriend or husband would defend me if they were acting inappropriate toward me. But I love foreign languages and cultures and peoples so I would be completely open to marrying someone from another culture.

Hmmmm I can definitely see the plus side of that one!!!

My in laws are a good distance away as well, twas a stipulation to marriage, so possibly so here on this one.

Funny question , I never thought of it that way... I don't think it's true in most cases. Maybe people just like the excitement of different cultures. Who knows

That's a thought that most people had not realized as a benefit more than likely, but it's a positive gesture.

No, I'd do it because of the accent.

Besides, if the in-laws come to visit, they stay for longer, and usually in your own house!! And honestly, I don't know what is worse.....
