Start with blowing bubbles in the water to show him that water is safe and go from there. Making it fun is a huge part of it so games where he jumps into the water are good. Maybe one time "accidently" dunk him under for a very short period of time and then celebrate that he went under. It should help him realize that it's ok to be underwater.

Take him to WalMart and let him select a nice scuba mask (the kind that covers the nose, too, not just eye goggles) for himself. Make sure it seals properly on his face before you buy it. Then, buy a couple of goldfish and drop them, along with a few coins or other suitable treasure, into the bottom of a kiddie pool. Make sure the water's not too cold. You'll have to tie him down to keep him from the water.

Bath time...have him hide his face in your hands as you just place them underwater...blow bubbles. If this works, have him hold his hands in the water and hide his face...then blow. Eventually have him put his face in the water and blow bubbles or make the sound of a motorboat. Put money on the bottom and have him open his eyes to try and grab it...if not, get into the water with him...get close to his face, then blow into his face, a reflex will cause him to hold his breath, then take him under and have him blink his eyes...if this doesn't work, it will take a while.

what i told my neighbor when she was afraid of swimming...what if harry potter came by and used his wand to get rid of all the water? well, you would sink, so acually, the water is keeping him up. That will help him because my neighbor didn't want to put her head under because she thought when her whole body was under she was going to sink. Just make sure he doesn't panic so he won't become even more scared of pools

Well the way I learned is that my friend shoved my head underwater. Eventually, I felt that it wasn't so bad so I stuck with it. I'm sure that'll work because that's what happened to me like 4 days ago. ><

tell him there're fish in the water (i am serious). it worked with my niece lol.
or you can get him into a swimming class cuz lots of times they see other kids doing it and they'll copy them.
don't worry sooner or later he'll try it.
