He was obviously swimming in a warm fresh water lake or pond. Usually a leech will disconnect when exposed to light, but if not, he can simply pull it off and shouldn't need your help. Leeches are ugly, but harmless.

thats sick, but leeches are sensitive to salt so pour a lot of salt on them and they'll be gone. make sure to put some alcohol on the area

and why did he tell you and not just go to a doctor or to his dad (sorry if hes not "around") but no dont help if i was him i wouldnt
