Does anybody know what the things they used to twirl the mallets in the movie "Drumline" are called?

I know that they strap onto your hands and they are really cool. They used them in the scene where the band was waiting in the hall right before the first game.When the phrase "Half time is game time is first used"

I think they are just hands in gloves. I was in a marching band for 4 years and the drumline didn't use anything special. But they did carry extra drumsticks incase they dropped one.
