I have owned the M45 for about a year now. Here are my opinions.

Well worth the money. It is a steal when comparing to a comparably performing BMW or Mercedes. If you want a more plush ride I would seuggest Lexus GS. If you want more of the sports sedan aka BMW feel this Infiniti is the one you want.

The Bose surround system is one of the best around. And the in dash 6 CD changer will played burned MP3 CD's.

The Voice activated Navi is good but need some work. For example you can't just say Monroe. You need to say Monroe St or Monroe Rd or even a direction such as South Monroe St. Once the destination is in. the Navi works wonderfully.

The handfree feature for Bluetooth phones is great. Automatically turns off the radio and turns down the fan speed on the AC so you can hear better.

Heated/Cooled seats are great.

Even though is seems like a lot of buttons on the dash they are very intuitive and it is much easier to find functions than the crappy I Drive on the BMW.

Acceleration is awesome. 1 main problem. With the Vehicle Stability Control turned on, if you gun it too fast, it really retards the engine once it senses wheel slip. So you have to be careful with your launches. Fortunately, unlike the Lexus you can turn this off if you'd rather handle the vehicle dynamics yourself.

The headlights stear into a turn at night. This works much better than I had expected.

The Lane Departure warning system works OK but it can get annoying. If for example there is a crack in the middle or you lane and it was tarred over, the system will mistake that for the edge of the lane and it will beep at you. You can turn this off, but it resets to on every time you start the car. There is no permanent way to turn it off.

The distronic cruise control makes line highway drives very nice, but the system is not fool proof. Still have to pay attention. For example when set to a short distance, if you're coming upon a car that suddenly brakes, it will not slow that car down fast enough in it's own. The system will only supply about 25% braking force. If it sense it can't stop it sounds a warning and you'd better be paying attention.

All in all, I have been happy with the car. If you're an Ipod person, wait for the '07 model as they are planning Ipod integration.

Hope this helps.

First of all, there is no such thing as a M45x. All Wheel Drive comes only with the V6 (M35x). Second, there is no way in the world you can get a M45 with $3999 down at $299/month. I will personally place a $1000 bet against anyone who thinks they can do this. It drives me crazy when people answer questions and pull their "facts" right out of thin air.

Now on to your real question. The Infiniti M is without question the best car in it's segment. Other cars in its segment include the BMW 5 series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Lexus GS, Acura RL, Cadilac STS, and Jaguar S-Type. Last year when M was introduced, all the car magazines compared it to all these models. Not one time did the M take anything less than First place. Check out these articles in Motor Trend, Car & Driver, Road & Track, and Autoweek. Also, Consumer Reports has rated the M as the best sedan they have ever tested. It recieved a score of 98 out of 100. Think the Acura TL is a good car? Consumer Reports gave it a 76 out of 100. Infiniti is the best kept secret in the car industry, and if you get one, you will not be dissapointed.

Thank you for answering the question. I too am considering a M45 (rear wheel drive, V8). I would suggest you go to Infiniti's pagevia Yahoo and read the reviews. All of the auto magazines rave about this car. You can get into one for around $50K plus added options.

"i'd go the variety rover. specially because its the twelve months that BMW man made them. and the M45 is massive yet when it has the technologies issues which could bring about severe priced upkeep and many electric powered issues." electric powered issues are an characteristic of many variety Rovers quite than the common Nissan, whom is the producer that develops Infintis. opt for the M45 in case you honestly favor to keep a instantly ahead motor vehicle for decades. opt for the variety Rover in case you want a make a short overstatement earlier you get stranded by using the fringe of the line from electric powered gremlins.

The G35 forum I belong to has a new section for the M35/45. They should have a lot of good information on the cars, and their experiences.

They are nice to look at and to drive. The dealer here in Cleveland is offering them with a one year lease for 299 a month with 3999 down.
