i think spanking should be a last resort... some parents do it WAY to much. but i think the mother should do it, because the father would probably be too rough with them

I don't condone spanking except in certain cases. If parents are going to hand down discipline, it has to be equal. Otherwise, the child will learn to manipulate the "easier" parent and fear the "disciplinarian".

Both As long as you feel comfortable with it and believe that's the way things should be handled. However one should not be "designated "to do this. This would lead to a strain relationship between child and that parent. Each parent needs to handle things themselves in their way and not push if off on the other parent

Both plus grandparents, uncles and aunts. Discipline and a large group of family will being a child up mannered and will show respect.
