You could pretend to be the characters & write his diary.
You could write a newspaper article on what happened & how it was solved.

Leave it as a murder mystery. However the twist is the victim is a schizophrenic who actually survives what is a brutal & tortuous suicide attempt and the story unfolds as the psychological exploration of the schizophrenic's multiple personalities. That is which of these personalilities has taken them to this point.
