They are stealing the youth from the children that appear on the show. That's why you never see the same kid twice. As they lose their youth to the puppet masters, they go from 6 years old to 12 years old overnight.
That's also one of the reasons you see so many dumb adults now. They aren't 20, they are really 14!!!! Not 30, really 24!!!
