how can i tell this guy that i'm not interested w/o being mean?

he calls everynight and obviously wants to get to know me but we always have nothing to talk about. sometimes it's just awkward, but i don't want to be rude by saying stop calling, but then again if i just keep answering his calls he might think that i'm interested. help?
