Umm, Why is the question "what"? Little kids spend a great deal of time on the naming game and seem to view having a name for something as having a sort of special power over it. Almost like in some way they can control and own it at least a little.
The first job that the bible god gave to Adam was to name everything God created, why is this so important to the minds of the myth makers that it was made the first job. The naming takes high importance in other mythologies also. It would be interesting to know which is first or more important. The what or the why of things. Is it more important to define objects by class or by function. These are fundamental questions that have never been properly studied. good luck on finding an answer before some clot reports and has the question deleted!

"The question" is the best tool that we have for gathering knowledge and wisdom. If we never ask, we will never know except by personal experience. Wisdom is knowing that the fire will burn without having to touch the flame. It is the direct result of learning from another's mistake. We cannot profit from another's actions unless we ask "the question".

The question is that which lies beyond your question and to be answered must first be proven or judged against your personal self image which dangles two inches above your head.

I get it. You are trying to imitate the famous Abott and Costello routine. Just changing the word for what "what" is.
