The KEY here is to understand the rules of fractions.
1/a is really 1 divided by the fraction 5/2. When dividing fractions, you flip the one you're dividing by, and then multiply the two together.
So flipping 5/2 gives us 2/5, and multiplying this by 1 gives us our final answer of 2/5.

okay rachel.
forget for now that a has any value.
now the variable is a
when we write 1/a, its called reciprocal of a
ie just the inverse of it
so if a =4, its reciprocal will be 1/4 ie 1/a
so for a=2/5, its reciprocal becomes 1/(2/5) ie = 5/2

answer it in parts. first start out by figuring out the answer 5 divided by 2. it should come out as a decimal (decimal answers are easiest for me, but use what works best for you to see the answer better). 1 divided by that number you came up with will become your final answer. convert that answer into a fraction if you need to.
