To my parents, although it is not always a pleasure, and I am sure that they felt the same about their parents. If you want to follow that all the way back then we are into the realms of metaphysics, back further and it is all quantum, or string theory...I quite enjoy the notion that I am the cosmic star child of a piece of string, and to string I shall return - I have always felt a little ropey.

to everyone; one owes the pleasure of living to one's parents and ancestors. one owes the pleasure of living to everyone whose lives were dedicated to make the world better; whether by fighting for independence, or by inventing things, or by fueling economies, or helping to cure people, etc. one owes the pleasure of living to the earth on its landscapes and animals and plants. one owes the pleasure of living to the ones who make the world imperfect, so that one will know what pleasure is. one owes the pleasure of living to oneself, if one has the ability to appreciate said pleasures.

one owes the pleasure of living to the chaos and utter randomality that brought upon one's life.
