Supposed to have an interview tomorrow but will not be able to make it for two reasons. Its out of town and I couldn't get a cheap flight, and they think i'm already there.

be vague if you can. Simply tell them you would like to reschedule if possible. If they ask why, simply tell them that you've had a family emergency.

1. Don't accept an offer if you can't make it.
2. Don't accept an offer under misleading circumstances (like they think you are there already).
3. Have the decency to call them and cancel so they can fill your spot with somebody who's honest and gives a crap about the job.
4. Have more respect in the future.
5. Don't expect them to give you a second shot.

Since it sounds as if you've already been lying, tell them you have a sick family member. Or, you can make it seem like it was their misunderstanding and you weren't already there. Do you want to reschedule? Do you want the job? If not, just tell them you regret that you need to cancel due to the cost of transportation. Offer to do a phone interview first.
