computer operating system can play a major role. Make sure you're running on Win2000 or XP and has SP1 or SP2. Sometimes all you have to do is just unplug the cord from the USB port and re-plug it.

attempt to get the present version of iTunes. I were given the 4th gen Nano for Christmas purely to stumble on i wanted the hot version of iTunes (plus i did not have information superhighway at homestead so I had to do a touch excursion for the length of city with my pal's PSP Christmas morning and obtain it on the faculty WiFi). It would not say some thing on iTunes or some thing? If no longer, it might want to be a difficulty jointly with your cable or some thing.

You cannot update you iPod when other users are logged onto your computer. So if you have other users logged on to your computer, log them off and then go back to your own account and restart iTunes. Then, plug in your ipod and it should work.
