Overrated, with two Rs, and yes, I find sanity is not all it's cracked up to be. For example, why do I have to smile nicely for my driver's lisense photo? There is NOTHING WRONG with holding a dismembered hand, formed into making an obscene gesture, in my mouth. I gotta express myself, ya know?

I think not that sanity is rated so ever what. Are cows sane? they seem satisfied in their own contentability. It depends on the cause for lack of sanity. If you seemed a macabre insane I would doubt it pleasant, but a psychadelic insane could be enjoyable and stretch from ordinary. How dost one question such a general term that is so subjective.

No, but it's not properly defined. Anyone can call anyone else insane just because of not approving of their thought process or ideas. What is sane, anyway? The social norm? Is anyone with an original thought insane since no one else has had the same thought? Or does it mean that you see the same objective reality that everyone else sees? What if everyone (as they once did) says that space is full of ether, but you know better? They could call you insane for a perfectly rational belief. Thinking clearly is not overrated at all, but judgments about what is and is not sane are not something we should all hand out indiscriminately like candy. Meanwhile, my goldfish is quoting Rabelais...

You bet! We live in an insane world...so you have to be a little nuts just to get along. Some of the smartest people I know are a bit "off" if you know what I mean? Without a little insanity; I doubt people would be as creative.
