install a small block chevy in it.
well, it would make it faster, but a better idea is to go to the old standard
1. improve the breathing--install a high performance air breather
2. install a performance exhaust
this combination should give you, maybe 5 more hp. you go too much and you will need to rejet the carb

Really, you're going to have to get a different motorcycle.
The standard answers are:
1. Bore the cylinders bigger. Then get pistons to match.
2. Replace the exhaust system.
