I want to make a mirror image/reflection of an image. I copy the layer, and try to flip vertically. I can flip the image but not the layer by itself, so I end up having to make the layer its own image, flip it, and the move it back into my original image...
There has to be an easier way.

If you go into 'image' > 'rotate canvas' > 'flip horizontal' this will effect all layers in your file. If you select 'edit' > 'transform' > 'flip horizontal' this will only effect the layer you are currently on. If you have nothing selected it will flip the whole layer, if you have something selected on that layer then it will only flip that part of the image.

You are way over your head. Just keep coloring between the lines.
