Don't get me wrong, I've got all of Zepp. I agree about the up and down answer- though I could listen to great gig in the sky in any mood, wow!

Money is overplayed but still a great song. I Try listening to it with some good cans like you've never heard it before. I don't really pick songs from Dark Side though, it's on piece in my mind

The good thing is you don't have to choose of course.

I think that Pink Floyd's best and only truly great album was Piper at the Gates of Dawn, when Syd left the band it turned too arena rock for me. Early Zeppelin was also quite good, later they turned quite bad. Right after Jimmy Page took the Yardbirds and reformed them into Led Zep, when they were still very blues influenced I would say the first 3 albums, after that, not so much.

I would have to say Floyd. They are the greatest musical pioneers ever, this I'm saying while them barely making it into my top 10 favourite bands. Favourite album: Animals, Favourite Song: Any Colour You Like (honestly if you said Money, you should kill yourself, there are at least 5 songs that are better on Darkside, and besides, Money is only their best 'for radio' song) Other than The Who, they were among the first to tell stories with their music, and to have an album being one long musical, with each song being an 'act' of sorts.

Can't choose between two great bands like that. I pick Pink Floyd for song writing and album production, but I pick Zep for live performance. After all, they practically invented improvisational rock.

That is not an easy question! I guess I have to go with Led Zepplin, especially since I'm listening to "The Rain Song" on repeat at the moment. Both of them are great though.

that is a tough choice! Both rule!

But I will say this: Dark Side of the Moon has been re-released on SACD. It is surround sound darkside, as it was originally intended! I bought a SACD player just for this disc alone, and it was worth it.
Hearing DSotM in surround for the first time reminded me of 30 years ago hearing the record of it on headphones for the first time!!

Zeppelin. Every album from Led Zeppelin to In Through the Out Door. Plant and Paige are just incredible together. It does something to me when I hear them. Every CD I have ever mixed includes one track by LZ.

Pink Floyd of course... Zeppelin is overrated. Pink Floyd is timeless, Zep it's a generation band.
