Your still young... and your already really good... Id say go for it... To get your fastball better... try lifting weights.... and you have lots of room to improve...

Hulk Hogan would tell you to say your prayers and take your vitamins, but unless you replace flintstone chewables with HGH, you're going to have a tough time bulking up enough to make it onto any scouts radar. 68 mph is ok for 13/14 yr old summer league, but a high school pitcher really should be bringing it in the low to mid 80's, otherwise there won't be enough difference in your fastball and off speed pitches, you should also start developing a slider (be careful they will mess your arm up)...

Size isn't everything, there are plenty of big league pitchers that aren't that big... Tim Hudson, Roy Oswalt...etc... but they can still bring heat. The important thing is to have fun at whatever level you're at... if you're not having fun, you won't put out the effort it will take to improve.

You are not going to make it with a 68MPH fastball. And I apologize, but a 2.92 ERA in high school is not all that impressive, is it? Maybe I don't know enough about your competition, but I would think that you would need something better than that to stand out to recruiters.

Now, packing on muscle and weight is not necessarily what it takes to get your velocity up - sometimes it is all about technique. Get a pitching coach - they can show you exactly what to do and tell you exactly how to train.

I'm an assitant baseball coach for the University of Tulsa, a D-1 school. Let me just say that there's not one scout who would even give you a look unless you were at the very least 155 pounds...and thats at the very least. your ERA for a high school JV team is average to below average...and your fastball is far too slow...you need a good 15-17 MPH more to even garner a look. Sorry but unless you make huge strides you have not a shot in the world.

Sorry to tell ya... but you've got 2 years to gain about 70-80 lbs... and you've probably got to do it faster than that... because if you're still a runt during your senior year, nobody's going to even give you a look. It helps if you're at least 6' tall too.

And that fastball's got to be breaking into at least the mid 80's.

As for getting up your velocity, do a lot of leg work, squats, leg presses, etc. Do some work to build up your forearm too. It'll improve the movement on your ball and add a couple of MPH.

The best way to get your speed up is working out, mostly the rotator culf and playing long toss 2-3 week, more if you are strong enough to. Long toss helped me tremendously to pick up speed on my fastball. And the faster your fastball is, the better your changeup becomes.

No. You're never going to. Give it up now. Unless you admit Damon sucks, and Crisp is a younger, better player, then go for it. Lift, gain weight and work on your slow fastball. ;)

Well, you're gonna hafta put more speed on your fastball, and to do that you're gonna hafta train and lift weights. If you really work at it you'll have a good shot.
