The newest downtown club/performing arts venue, The Flying Anvil, has been immediately embraced for its relatively large capacity, great selection of rock/alternative/indie offerings, etc. It has instantly become a favorite among Greensboro's music fans.

I find the small bars and clubs in Raleigh are a good bet... Try the Pour House in Raleigh, NC or the back room at Rum Runners
