In a world where humans and androids, known as autoreivs, live in relative peace, there exists a domed city named "Romdeau". Under the implementation of complete management control, it is a paradise where feelings are literally discarded, and the governing council dictates the way of life the citizens should live. But this utopian landscape is soon broken by a series of mystifying murders. Real Mayar, a female inspector from the Citizen Information Bureau, along with her autoreiv partner Iggy, are tasked to solve the murder cases. She is soon attacked by a creature drawn to her which is neither human nor android, and learns about the mysterious phenomena called "Awakening", an event which draws her further into the case...and to the world beyond the limits of Romdeau. Cutting edge anime...
Monster
A young and promising doctor saves the life of a young boy...and his life is never the same again. Brilliant...episodic...very creepy at times.
Kakurenbo: Hide and Seek (2005)
A young boy named Hikora enters the ruins of a forbidden city with a group of other children to play "Otokoyo" (a game of hide-and-seek where the players are said to be kidnapped by ghosts and demons) to find his missing sister.
brutal anime...unforgiving...excellent but unforgettable...
Hoshi no koe (2003) aka Voices of a Distant Star
Probably one of the most beautiful anime love stories I have seen...haunting...exquisite...the images stayed with me long after the anime finished. An all time favorite.
Pale cocoon
Ura works in decoding records. These records span back to when there was a sun, and when the Earth was covered in green. It is said mankind destroyed that world, and the world is now endless layers of underground levels. No one lives near the top of this maze, as the atmosphere is said not to be breathable. Slowly, the world as it once was is being pieced together through these ancient archives....
Like Kakurenbo and Voices if a Distant Star...this short film comes in under thirty minutes...well worth it...sweet...measured...paced...with a message.
enjoy

Watch the action block on Adult Swim (which is on Saturdays from 11:30-2:00 EST), and on weekdays (12:30-2:00 EST). They play Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Eureka 7, Paranoia Agent, Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, s-CRY-ed, and many others. They're all good in their own way, and they'll soon be showing Bleach, which is going to be exciting (if a little strange, since I've been watching it subtitled). I also recommend Fruits Basket if you're into shoujo at all, and any and all things Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Castle in the Sky, etc.).
There's tons of anime out there.

I know BLEACH is coming soon the adult swim so you're gonna wanna check that out. It involves the spirit world and Death Gods and all that good stuff.
Outlaw Star is always a recommendation of mine. It's about an outlaw named Gene and his crew and their adventure to find the galactic layline.
Appleseed is another awesome movie and is considered to be the first true 3-d animated uh, anime. Cool scenes and good music.
If you've seen the Tenchi series and liked them, you'll also like Love Hina, Ah! My goddess, and Fruits Baskets. All of them strong recommendations.
Or you can always watch the Nauto and InuYasha movies. If you're talking about Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, then watch the actual Ghost in the Shell movies...those are awesome!
Happy anime hunting!

If you've watched any anime on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, you can safely re-watch the subtitled version for an entirely different and superior experience (the anime on American television is censored/butchered and has terrible voice acting).
You should also check out http://www.animenfo.com or, more specifically the top 200 list on the same site: http://www.animenfo.com/statistic/top.php?type=anime
Basically all the anime in that list is good stuff! Cheers.

have you watched the the rurouni kenshin samurai x movies? or all of the inuyasha movies? there's one coming soon in theatres (fire on a mystic island or something). Kare kano is sweet but really low budget, and chobits is soo cute but not action packed. I think you would really like cowboy bebop - lote of shooting, running, skanky outfits, it's just like real life - and it's AWESOME.

Looking from your anime list, it seems like you like an action shonen type of anime. If so, then you will probably like :
Blood+
Bleach
Witchblade
From those 3 I personally recommend Blood+.
