There are times when you yourself determine that you need to dominate others or be dominated.A police officer might order non involved citizens away from a crime scene.A politician would insist on order during a hearing. The judge in a courtroom demands silence. If I did not comply with the authority in these situations I would get arrested. The power of office. This "dominate" and "be dominated" idea extends in to your personal life also.

If I had a fair shot at getting half of what I wanted out of life, I wouldn't want to dominate, but....the way so many folks act predatory with their greed and their zero-sum game issues (treating anyone else's success as a threat to theirs), it is almost a necessity really.

I'd rather work from love, but if no one else will, then hell yes I will sieze power. Because if the choice is between being treated like a tyrant who must be obeyed or being treated like roadkill, I'll be the tyrant thank you....

but that is such a wretched, pathetic false dilemna to start from. I *sooo* do NOT want to give up on the notion of working from love first. Or at the very least, on the notion of starting from *giving* as opposed to taking.

I like a meeting of equals...so it rules out dominance from either quarter.

That's what Nietzsche said. Everyone is motivated by the Will to Power to have power over other people. Makes a lot of sense.

depends. actually, i'd rather not have the responsibility. so i'll have to say no. but i WON'T be dominated either. don't lean on me, and i won't lean on you. just ask the fat wilderbeast i work with. she trys to "throw her weight around". doesn't work with me though. so live and let live i say. go ahead and dominate baby, those who let you do it obviously like it.
