Some laptops have the availability to control fan volume and speed. These options may be available in the software that interfaces with the laptop.
Your laptop could also be sitting on a surface which amplifies sound. Try a different surface without affecting the airflow.
Your laptop fan may be going bad. As long as the fan blows air, you're OK. When you no longer feel air, the fan is bad. Hopefully, you purchased extended warranty because replacing a fan is not a do-it yourself job.
Good luck.

It's dirty. I had the exact same problem last year; infact, it would get so noisy and clogged that my laptop would get to a point and shut down constantly because of the heat.
Get a vaccume or something of that sort and clean it out, if you can, get a napkin and wipe off any dust on the outer part of your laptop first.

Try cleaning it first, then if that doesn't help, you may want to replace the fan.
