I really wanted to bulk up (and potentially grow) by going to the gym. And I wanted to do it in the quickest way possible. So would I mainly use free weights??? And what kind of rep regiment should I use?? Oh... and my calves never really seem to respond to my work outs either. Thans guys.

I'm not a guy, but to bulk you would use free weights, since they work your entire range of motion.

Do small reps and sets with HEAVY weights.

Calves, you have to start running. Running hills will build up your lower body and burn fat, which will expose your muscle.

Calves are one of the hardest muscles to work out...they are very rigid. Get on a treadmill, set incline to 25 or 30, speed at around 2.1 - 2.5, and start climbing....w/o holding on to anything...

Do it for atleast 5 mins every day, ur calves should be sore the next day....if not, increase the incline angle...

For bulking up, concentrate on less reps, heavier weights w/o sacrificing technique while lifting...rest of no more than 90 secs between sets. Drink Protein shakes before and after workouts...
