how can something with no end expand and contract?

The problem with visualizing the universe is that our brains are hardwired to think in three dimensions. You have to keep in mind that "the universe exists" in more than just spatial terms. the fourth dimension - Time - in particular makes it difficult and complicated to think about the universe as a thing with boundaries. Try to remember that "the universe" is really an idea based on a set of theories that are constantly changing and being challenged. Wikipedia has some great articles on comsological physics that will help you get a grip on things, and I always like to recommend Hawking's A Brief History of Time to people who ask these questions, because it will help you expand your frame of reference. The question is a good one.

There probably is an end to the Universe. Since there was nothing before the Big Bang then when you get to the end of the universe there would Be nothing beyond. So the Universe is expanding into nothingness and so there is nothing to stop its expansion from the outside. Now as far as contracting. Gravity is one of the weakest of atomic forces but it has eons to act and so as the universe expands the Gravity of the universe and all of thew mass in the universe is slowing down the rate of expansion until it begins to draw the universe away from the nothingness surrounding it and it collapses into a singularity again until we have another BIG BANG!

I'm no expert or anything and this is just a theory. But maybe the universe is like a big loop. There is no beginning or end or boundaries. Once you reach the "end" you're really back at the beginning.

It's not expanding if there is no end, you're right. Nothing is beyond it. There is nothing that is not the universe. There is no end.

If the universe is everything there is, how can there can be "beyond it".

If it has an end, something is limiting it outside, which it should belong to the universe.

So the end of this motherfuckin world is another world ,but way too diffrent.
Our religion says it's name is "Ghiyamat" . in that world each individual must answer reasonabally the questions on his sins or faults that our religion specify them.
and after answerin you go to hell or heaven,it depends....
there are some people that live in the hell forever, but most of people that beleive in a religion will get out of the hell and then go to the heaven and live forever in there in peace and fun.

If you travel far enough in one direction you end up at the same point you left of. The universe is a hypersphere.

we are just tiny crumbs in the "universe" it is beyond the scope of our minds the size of it. just as this room would be to an atom.
look in to quantum physics, M theory and string theory. its fun to learn about!
