I have the perfect book for you! Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is an incredible book--truly a must-read--and even though I had never read anything about vampires, she had me hooked almost from the very beginning. It's filed in "YA" literature, but it can be enjoyed by anyone of any age...believe me...I picked it up based on a friend's recommendation...and literally read it in one day...it is a 500+ page book that I could not put down. My friend couldn't either--and she has a full time job and two kids--so you know a book is good when you're really to make sacrifices like that!!!
The good news, it's the first in a series, the second book New Moon comes out in September.
Her writing is great. The chemistry she builds up between her characters is incredible. She has a way of making the unbelievable realistic...Bella's high school world weaves together with the local vampires and werewolves...and it just works somehow. It's great.

I like the Alex Cross series by Jeffery Deaver, he is the author of The Bone Collector. His books are hard to put down, they have so many twists, that unlike many books I can't usually guess the ending.
Janet Evanovich the Stephanie Plum series, someone suggested already are some of the only books that really made me laugh loudly while reading. They are great.
Piers Anthony's Xanth series are science fiction with humor, they are very well written and witty. I loved the early ones the best
A vampire book just because you have read a lot of them, I read one by F Paul Wilson called Midnight Mass, I loved it.

My favorite author is Nicholas Sparks, his books never end the way you expect (& the book The Notebook is 100 times better than the movie)
my second favorite author is Nora Roberts writing as JD Robb, she does a series where all the titles have "In Death" in them (ex: Memory In Death) about a woman cop in the future, the are great books, you can not put them down until its over! This series is my favorite b/c you dont often have a strong woman character (she has some issues from her childhood) & she is believable as a "real" person
from what I read above you would really love the In Death series, you should give them a try. You can pick any one in the series, they dont have to be read in any order.

One of my favorites is Wuthering Heights, because the plot and writing style are amazing. The intense love between Heathcliff and Catherine is so well developed. I also love A Tale of Two Cities. Normally I'm not a huge Charles Dickens fan but this book was an exception. Finally any Jane Austen book. Her writing and characters are so interesting, and I've read many of her books multiple times.

My favourites authors are Oscar Wilde and Anne Rice. The bad news is Anne rice's endings are very bads almost all the times.
You should try "The Cursed Kings" by Maurice Druon there are 7 books and every one is excellent. They are about the kings of France in the XIV century and, believeit or not, they are very interesting!
Also try Fundation, by Isaac Asimov.
I love Harry Potter too and I'm 37

I love harry potter, too and i cant wait for the next book! i have alot of other favorite books too, but i cant name them all. Two books that i would recommend to you would be A Great And Terrible Beauty, and it's sequel, Rebel Angels by Libba Bray. they are great books, and once you pick them up. you WONT be able to put them down!If you like vampires and witches and harry potter and things like that, then you'll love these books. its about a girl named Gemma who discovers that her mother belongs to a secret society of "witches" when she is mysteriosely killed, and then Gemma is sent to this school where her mother used to go and in the school she discovers the mystery of her mother and her killer. it's just a big mystery and so many other things happen. my summary doesnt do any justice to the books, but you just have to read them. i'm on a reading binge too, i always am in the summer. right now, i'm reading the chronicles of Narnia, and i love it.

i LOVE books by Mary Higgins Clark (the queen of suspense) such as Nighttime is My Time, and The Second Time Around. I also like books by Catherine Coulter. She makes amazing FBI thrillers, especially the ones about the husband and wife team Sherlock and Savich like the Cove, and the Maze. My favorite classic books are David Copperfield and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Jane Austen, Jane Austen, Jane Austen!
Also anything by the following authors (my favorite(s) of theirs):
James Kirkwood ("There Must Be A Pony" and "P.S. Your Cat is Dead")
Tom Robbins ("Jitterbug Perfume")
Kurt Vonnegut ("Breakfast of Champions" and "Slaughterhouse Five")
Richard Bach ("Jonathan Livingston Seagull" and "Illusions")
Shel Silverstein ("The Giving Tree" and "A Light in the Attic")
Why? Because I never get tired of reading them. I average about two books a week and these are some of the ones I come back to time and again and I always find something new to love about them.

I love Nicholas Sparks for his romance stories! The movies A walk to remember, A message in a bottle, the notebook were based on his books. I also love Jennifer Weiner's books (In Her Shoes). Her new book comes out in September but Good in Bed is the best. I fly through her books in a weekend because I cant put them down. We also read the Da Vinci code prior to the movie and that was great, we couldnt put that down either. Check them out!
