I suppose I am yeah.
I had a little debate with one of my kids the other day.
She says I'm not an artist because I don't earn from it and artists can only class themselves as artists if earn.
BS, life is an art and everything I see is my subject and to me that is enough to call me an artist.
Everything is art and the artist is within us all; we just all express it differently

How do you define an artist? I believe that that is an artistic statement and therefore you are an artist!

I love to draw and enter art contest, I love to look at art. I just started drawing 6 years ago, never took an art class, just always wondered if I could draw what I saw and I did. It is not the best art in the world but if you would like to see some that I did in the past not recent you can go to http;//home.earthlink.net/~todd67

Yes. Local theater. Not much pay but great friends and great times (and great cast parties). You do achieve a level of distinction, though, through audience recognition outside the theater.
