Many species are wingless, and the ones that do have wings, will rarely fly at all. They are classified under the winged insects Subclass pterygota, meaning that they do have wings becuase several representatives of the order Dermaptera do.
I hope this answers your question!

Yes.
Some species actually have wings, tucked under the small, colorful covers found on the earwig's thorax (middle part).
Also, as I was reading your question, an earwig flew by, right in front of me. I verified that it was indeed an earwig.
Hope this helps... :)

On an earwig's body are shiny wing cases. Most of the time, the earwig keeps them closed. They keep the earwigs wings protected. When they fly the wing cases snap open. However, they rarely fly.

There are a couple of species living around here (Los Angeles, CA), and the wings do not develop. These species therefore do not fly.
That doesn't stop me from throwing them though.

Species may be winged or wingless. Only a few species are good fliers. So yes they do fly. But not as common.

They do have wings just looked it up and they rarely use them. That doesn't mean never though. Just very rarely.
The only ones I have ever seen flying are the ones I have flicked of my parasol.
