well, u'd do well to use this for most things in life; ie, homework, work situations, dealing w/ projects, taking care of finances; ie, all things u CAN have control over and can prepare for future. however, u cannot really use this for Time Sensitive things..
for example, u would take CPR class to become a good lifeguard, so plan to take the class, take it, practice and check ur ability. but when someone is in trouble, such as jumping in a pool to save someone drowning, u don't have time to plan and check urself. u just do it. that is why it's important to get urself "ready" for any situation by studying hard, practicing to make urself perfect, etc, in case u are stuck in a situation that is "real time" and u have no time for thinking; u just DO.
so u wouldn't use this technique when someone is in immediate, life threatening situation; u wouldn't use it to get something done quickly (u have to run out of the house, don't have time to check if u locked the door just hope u did). even in that scenario, if u plan and make a habit/cycle that u ALWAYS lock the door most likely u did, even tho u don't go back to check. u also wouldn't need to do it as much when u have developed a regular habit, etc.... hope that helps!
